Environmental Engineer (Electric and Magnetic Fields)

Become a national expert for National Grid

Would you like to become a leading expert in electric and magnetic fields? Writing and influencing UK policy, managing research on behalf on the industry, having a say in everything that National Grid builds?

Good.

Because we’re looking for an Environmental Engineer to help us manage electric and magnetic field (EMF) issues.

As owner of the electricity transmission system in England and Wales, we take our EMF responsibilities seriously. It’s up to us to protect the health of our staff, the public and environment, and there has never been a more exciting time to join us.

You’ll be helping set the direction of National Grid as we work towards net zero and the decarbonisation of the energy system. As we build the necessary infrastructure and technology you’ll be involved in projects including cables, undersea interconnectors, substations, overhead lines and offshore connectors.

In return we’ll provide you with the kind of role you’ll want to stay in. You’ll be acknowledged as a technical leader in your field and have the satisfaction of doing a job that doesn’t just protect the health of people, but of the planet too.

“I’ve been in the role for 20 years, and my manager before me did it for 40. If EMF is your passion, this is the best place in the country to do the job.”
